What we do title.png

We want to help women in prison to address their personal issues, and the reasons for their past offending behaviour - with a view to becoming healed, whole, and living in their true potential. It is our desire that each woman we work with will learn to not be defined by their past but look with hope to their future, beyond the prison gates - knowing their true identity; free from crime, and living healthy and productive lives in the community.

We work through Chaplaincy departments and currently deliver several different courses addressing various issues and root causes of crime.

In addition, we offer pastoral care and support for women in prison of all faiths and none.

We regularly take Sunday services and worship evenings and offer Bible study and encouragement.

All our courses have Christian foundations but are not faith promoting. Our course facilitators follow chaplaincy protocols regarding proselytising in that we will not try and convert the women that we work with but will be open to share about our personal faith in Jesus Christ if asked.

“I am delighted to write this supporting statement for ID Prison Ministry. I have full confidence that their projects will achieve their intended purposes, and this can already be seen in the exponential growth of the organisation

ID Prison Ministry work tirelessly to deliver engaging and interactive courses which help troubled and vulnerable individuals with rehabilitation and recognising their self-worth.

As the Head of Chaplaincy and Faith Services at HMP/YOI East Sutton Park, I have seen and heard first-hand from prisoners how much they have benefitted from the courses. Prisoners have told me that the courses have helped them to realise that they have so much more to give to society, and reminded them that it is never too late to turn their lives around.

The work of ID Prison Ministry is extremely valued by the prison and is regularly included in the sentence planning of prisoners by the Offender Management Unit.”
