ID Essence work with young women aged 18-25 in prison and after prison. We exist to provide as many young women as possible with the skills, self-belief and support they need to make positive changes and live life free from prison. 

Borne out of Kahaila church in East London, and now a project of Imago Dei Prison Ministry, our dedicated team of Essence Workers deliver non-formal education programmes, resettlement support and pastoral mentoring in both prison and community settings.

As a project and a team, we are also passionate about fighting for social justice in the UK because we see every day the very clear links between social injustices and crime. Take a look at our social justice resources page to find out more.
